Weekend Away

Each year, Valley Potters members come together for a special weekend away, travelling to regional areas of Victoria to connect, learn, and be inspired. These trips are a chance to step out of the studio, share time with fellow members, and immerse ourselves in the creativity of other potters and ceramic communities.

Over the past three years, we’ve enjoyed visiting Ballarat, Castlemaine, and Shepparton—meeting local makers, exploring their studios, and discovering the rich ceramic traditions and practices in each area.

More than just studio visits, these weekends are also about building friendships, exchanging ideas, and deepening our appreciation for the diverse approaches to clay. They’re a highlight of our year, offering both inspiration and connection for everyone who joins.
